Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional Therapy is an individualised approach to helping people with their health, through nutrition, lifestyle and supplements. Nutritional Therapists work with testing and personalised interventions for clients, using evidence based approaches by aiming to implement 20% change for a 80% outcome.

What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is based on Functional Medicine, which looks at the body as a whole. It is based on the belief that all bodily systems are linked, and that imbalances in one will affect others. Rather than diagnosis, it looks at prevention of disease by balancing any imbalances found, through food, lifestyle changes and supplements.
What is Nutritional Therapy useful for?
Most things can benefit from making small changes to how you eat an d our lifestyle. More complex conditions and concerns can be addressed through therapeutic diets and supplement use. In my clinic I've supported the following:
- Fertility (e.g. before trying to conceive, post miscarriage)
- Menstrual Cycle health (e.g. missed/ irregular periods, painful periods, PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids)
- Perimenopause & menopause symptoms (e.g. hot flushes, vaginal dryness, depression, sleep disturbances)
- Autoimmune conditions (e.g. Rheumatoid arthritis and Hashimoto's)
- Metabolic Health (e.g. Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome)
- Mental Health (e.g. Anxiety and Depression)
- Atopic Conditions (e.g. Asthma, Eczema and Hayfever)
But I also help with general health and concerns such as more energy, sleeping better, longevity and immune health.
My ethos
The way I work is to include rather than remove - unless a specific food is creating a problem then I avoid taking them out. Chocolate, coffee and some alcohol can be part of a well balanced lifestyle! I do not address weight gain directly and am a follower of Intuitive Eating. I do not provide strict meal plans, macro break downs or calories, as I encourage eating to fullness, enjoying food and paying attention to how foods make you feel instead of labelling foods as "bad" or "good".
What happens during a consultation?
Before the actual consultation I will ask you to fill in a comprehensive questionnaire to enable me to prepare by researching your health condition, medications, supplements etc as well as putting together an interpretation and therapeutic plan. During the consultation I will then ask you more questions, explain my findings and we will co create your recommendations together. I will usually choose a range of dietary and lifestyle actions plus possibly suggest some tests as well as targeted supplements. This first/ initial consultation takes 2 hours.
What happens after the consultation?
I will type up your recommendations, including meal ideas and some recipes and send them on to you within 5 working days. You will then start implementing the recommendations and I will check in with you r regularly to see if you need further clarification or help. Usually people find 3-4 consultations over 3-6 months help them achieve their goals, which is why I will schedule you in for a follow up.
What happens at a Follow Up consultation?
As for the first/ initial consultation I will send you a questionnaire (this is much shorter!) to assess your progress and then we will review each step, tweaking as we go as well as adding in some new actions should you so choose. This takes about 75mins. Afterward I will again send you on the recommendations document.
